[EgiSharp New Colors] Testing the 4 November-Release Colors on the Rocky Shore!
Day Rock Brown x daytime rocky shore, Aka-Samurai Meteor Glow Purple x sight game -- decoding how to use the 4 new colors through real fishing
Four long-awaited new colors added to EgiSharp!
Four new colors, releasing in November, have been added to Keystone's standard eging egi, "EgiSharp."
Four New EgiSharp Colors Releasing in November
- Aka-Samurai Meteor Glow Purple - A glow purple that shines in night and sight fishing
- Aka-Samurai Meteor Glow Red - A high-appeal glow red color
- Haimurubushi Orange - An orange-based color strong at dawn and dusk (mazume)
- Day Rock Brown - A natural color with an outstanding track record on daytime rocky shores
This time, we ran field tests with these four colors to verify the situations each one excels in.
On daytime rocky shores, Day Rock Brown is overwhelming
On daytime rocky shores, sunlight reaches all the way to the seabed and the squid are under high pressure. Flashy colors rarely draw a response.
That is where Day Rock Brown came into its own. The natural brown color that blends into the reef gave no sense of unnaturalness to wary squid and reliably triggered bites.
Situations Day Rock Brown Excels In
Time of Day
Daytime (10:00-15:00)

Conquer the sight game with Aka-Samurai Meteor Glow Purple
The sight game, where you can visually spot squid in shallow areas. Here, Aka-Samurai Meteor Glow Purple showed its power.
The glow material's luminescence secures visibility to the squid, while the purple-based coloring strikes an exquisite balance that avoids applying excessive pressure. We observed, time and again, bigfin reef squid approaching the egi and firmly latching on.
Strategy for using each of the 4 colors
The four November new colors each have a clearly defined situation they excel in.
Aka-Samurai Meteor Glow Purple
Ideal for night games, sight games, and dim time slots. Combines visibility and naturalness.
Aka-Samurai Meteor Glow Red
A high-appeal color. Effective during high-activity time slots, murky tides, and mazume.
Haimurubushi Orange
A standard for dawn and dusk mazume. Its strong orange appeal draws squid in.
Day Rock Brown
Dedicated to daytime rocky shores and reef zones. A natural color to conquer high-pressure situations.
EgiSharp's core performance is as strong as ever
Even with the four new colors added, EgiSharp's core performance remains unchanged:
- Outstanding casting distance (averaging over 40 m with No.3.5)
- Stable fall posture (a horizontal fall to entice squid)
- Sharp darting (crisp action that triggers reaction bites)
- Abundant color variations (the selection expands further with the new colors)
With these four new colors added to that core performance, the lineup is now complete to handle any situation.
