JetChaser
Introducing JetChaser®, KeyStone's new proposal for enjoying late summer through autumn. This is the season when sea temperatures begin to fall and baitfish (small fish) reach their highest activity of the entire year. JetChaser® is a tip-run egi in No.2.5 and No.2.6 sizes, designed to mimic the chasing movement of these highly active baitfish. What's more, its ultra-compact yet weighty body enables a jet-like fall that lets you target quality bigfin reef squid (aori-ika) lurking on the bottom (seabed).
The action produced by its distinctive design recreates the jet-like movement of baitfish unique to this season.
JetChaser® is sure to be a leading choice in your arsenal for conquering autumn bigfin reef squid. It comes in the following two specifications.
No.2.5 20g / No.2.6 22g.
Ultra-compact in size, yet remarkably heavy. But it isn't merely small and heavy.
Its design makes the most of the body's buoyancy to achieve the finest tension-stay posture.
As the summer heat eases and the first signs of autumn appear, a comfortable season arrives, not only for people but for fish as well. As the water temperature gradually drops and conditions turn pleasant, the activity of small fish surges all at once. This is because they become desperate to store up nourishment to survive the harsh winter ahead. Autumn also brings a rich variety of baitfish. During this period you will frequently witness quality bigfin reef squid, their predatory switch flipped on, chasing (hunting down) fast-moving baitfish.
JetChaser® was developed to replicate exactly this jet-like baitfish movement.
In shallow situations of 10-20 m, you can produce a 'just-right jet fall' and 'jet darting' with light tackle. This is JetChaser®.
In the season ahead, pair light tackle with JetChaser and the fun doubles!
To reproduce the movement of this chasing baitfish, the body is made from rigid foamed urethane resin, a material that is difficult to mass-produce. This high-buoyancy material is what makes the ideal balance possible. More than a year has passed since development began, and we have repeated countless prototypes in pursuit of the optimal body.
Even though JetChaser® is an egi in the No.2.5 class, it is fitted with the KS06 hook normally reserved for the No.3.5-No.4.0 class. This is the same crown hook (kanna) used on EgiSharp No.3.8 and No.3.5. Despite carrying a crown hook of this size, JetChaser® still achieves excellent balance, which demonstrates its high potential as an egi. In other words, JetChaser® delivers ideal performance even as a practical fishing tool. At KeyStone, we regard crown-hook performance as one of the most important specifications, and we develop and manufacture them in-house.
JetChaser® was made possible precisely by its spec of 'the finest crown hook' + 'the finest body' + 'an ultra-compact size.' Its jet action is born from this distinctive design, and the excellence of that total design is the secret to such a high-sensitivity egi.
For deep water or fast-current situations, it is designed to easily accept mask sinkers sold by various manufacturers. Compatibility has expanded beyond Daybreak, released last year, and with a mask sinker fitted the egi becomes roughly the size of a No.3.0. JetChaser® is designed from the ground up to be used with mask sinkers from various makers.

In test outings since last year, shore eging has produced unexpected results. This JetChaser weighs almost the same as a standard No.3.5 egi, so it feels completely natural when casting and working the lure.
[Making the most of the fast sink rate]
Because it sinks fast, you can fish it with quick action to entice highly active squid, and not only from high vantage points or in fast current.
[Jet action]
A leaping jet action that's hard to achieve at a No.3.5 size. It's exactly the motion of fleeing baitfish, followed by free fall, tension fall, and slow retrieve.
JetChaser will be a new offensive weapon not only for the coming autumn eging season, but also for low-activity winter days and when targeting large squid in spring.
