Target at depths of 50–200m:
4kg-plus class Akaika-type bigfin reef squid (aori-ika).
Innovative Ejing, born in Okinawa.
Bigfin reef squid that have grown to the 4kg-plus class are staggeringly clever.
Haven't you experienced this truth for yourself?
With an ordinary egi, you hook them but can't land them.
Even after hooking, you lose them to torn and ripped flesh.
Sharks steal them away. Hooks bend open. Shafts snap.
MonsterTune, the dedicated egi for Red Monsters and White Monsters,
solves every one of these problems.
A high-balance design made possible by the high-buoyancy material
"hard foamed urethane resin", despite its multi-tier hooks.
A monster spec that delivers 120% of the performance of a professional fishing tool.
The greatest challenge when fighting monster-class bigfin reef squid over 4kg is the "tearing" and "ripping" of the flesh — solved by the innovative multi-tier crown hook (kanna) system. The No.4.0 V1 features 3-stage crown hooks and the No.5.0 V2 features 4-stage crown hooks, distributing the weight of the catch across multiple hooks. Thanks to the high-buoyancy properties of the hard foamed urethane resin, an ideal balance is achieved despite the added weight of the multi-tier hooks.
In deep water, sharks frequently snatch your catch. The multi-tier crown hook system firmly secures a hooked bigfin reef squid with multiple hooks, so it is unlikely to come off even when a shark interferes. It makes an exciting fight on PE No.0.8–1.2 possible.
Uses the dedicated Ejing system snap (#3, 2 pieces included) developed exclusively for MonsterTune. The design is optimized for "Ejing," the new fishing technique that mixes jigging-style action with eging-style jerking (shakuri).
| Size | Weight | Fall (Sink) Rate | Hook | Recommended Range |
